"Motorbreath" by Squindo
If Tony Squindo had listened to his art teachers while attending school, he might not have his current career as a freelance artist. "More than once, my art teachers told me that what I was doing was not art and the cartoonish style could never mesh with real art, leaving no future or career doing what I was doing...so of course I pursued it!" A chance meeting with Lars Ulrich at a party led to an artistic relationship with Metallica that has spanned almost a quarter century. "Seems that some of my teachers may have been wrong," says Squindo. "The combination of quirky cartoons and heavy metal has been working for me so far."
Squindo's multi-layered wood-carved stain painting perfectly captures the intensity of "Motorbreath."
