S&M Recording

Metallica's live double album S&M was recorded with the San Francisco Symphony at Berkeley Community Theatre, Berkeley, California, April 21 and 22, 1999. The orchestral arrangements were by composer/conductor Michael Kamen. San Francisco Symphony member and concertmaster for the performance Jeremy Constant recalled, "To be doing this extremely challenging, extremely intricate, mind-concentrating musical work, while being somewhat physically assaulted (by the volume) was a very new experience for all of us...I honestly can't wait to do it again."
